Slowing Down Time
From day one, Haven kept telling me, “Just wait till you see the Eastern Shore, there is nothing like it”. I kept playing it off that I was excited but in the back of my head I was more excited about the long bridge I get to cross on the way there. Man, was she right, it was the first time in my life that I had ever seen the sunset over ocean water. The whole trip was amazing and something I will never forget.
Waking up and starting the day in Cape Charles feels different. Everything and everyone has their own pace that is not bound by time. There was a calm, comfortable feel the whole day. No rush was needed, just friends, family, and a whole lot of stories to share and make. This carried over to Erik and Haven wedding venue.
The Elkington sat along a gorgeous stretch land that bordered on three sides by the Gulph Creek that empties into the Chesapeake Bay. The views were endless and the ceremony site was set under fully grown trees that added plenty of shade to host a beautiful setting. The house where they got ready was so unique and frozen in a time where stories were told through memories and keepsakes. Erik and Haven enjoyed every moment of their wedding day. Their bridal party celebrated them and encouraged them each step of the way. My words do not do justice to just how stunning Erik and Haven’s wedding was in Cape Charles, Virginia on the Eastern Shore. I can’t wait to go back someday.
